How it works
Veins and shear zone hosted deposits tend to form fairly continuous sheet-like bodies in 3D, but their grade is anything but simple.
The best practical published work on plunge and shoot formation and outlines a system of three levels of control (Hronsky, 2020):
- The overall deposit itself (the vein, in this case)
- The plunge level (usually steep, wider, and of consistently elevated grade relative to anomalous background)
- The shoot level (usually narrow, linear, and of bonanza grade relative to the rest of the structure)
These features have predictable, identifiable controls that you and your team have likely identified already. What your missing is to actually put that to work with a 3D model of what your grade is actually doing in the structure.
